this is my first into an international forum, and got interested with the topic.
since my main purpose is to learn and share tricks, I think we all have the same problem about this CCFL!!!
here's mine to share too. Peace!

The Led array -

I myself an electronic person, thought of replacing this CCFL light (too bright for me after 10 minutes, thinking it will blowoff anytime just like a normal flourescent, pricy it may seem and lots of cons to think). Tried the array with a regular circuit board, yup it's nice but took me some time to produce (I get my earnings thru modding btw).

hoping that it may help lot and develop it into a better one.

the one i've made is flexible, and at one point need no soldering at all, it can go round and straight

i used to play with leds since my college day

some i've implimented here on my first case mod way back 2004

still editing to add more info...
from a my file photos way back 2005 (the led meteor bar and ferriswheel fan)

Making the Led array

try to find a flexible power cord, about 15 inches for a start. A needle or pin to pinch that cord through.
I hope the graphics provided is understandable.

sorry for these samples, mobile phone cam used. Probably later I'll make a better one just the same.

another glimpse

1) as sampled, a 24led 12" power cable wire:-

Another unusual but a smile in the heart lightmod (again an alternative for this ccfl lighting)

i name it sunny ledbar (way back 2004), as the name implies more light in a sunny day...

an old photo, i'll make a better one just the same...
Image

how?
flatwire (2 colored), a gluestick (10mm x 230mm), a plastic tube, 2 leds and additional improvements
Image

to this:-
Image

make a hole using the soldering iron
Image

after releasing the soldering iron, put the led in while gluestick's still hot.
Image

bad photo: now the led is in place...
Image

bad photo: testing with a 3.6v mobile phone battery, this green led doesn't look like a green - sorry.
Image

will update still to complete the process into a useful item on your computer!!!

thanks bros!
