So I've decide to post my first mod, the theme is the steel case and is very simple ( I think). snce it´s my firs try I took an old acer case that I have and plan to paint yellow inside, black with a yellow line in the midle of the top, a window two fans, jus the basic.
so this is the case

the front bezel to be cut.

After a few cuts.

I don't know if make it looks like this

or cut more the front panel and put the mesh like this

Image

the other ting is that after the primer when I applied the first coat of paint it took like half an hour to dry for the second coat, and this is the resukts,

my guess is the primer but now how do I fix it? more primer and paint of another brand? if so, how do I clean the primer that is already painted? or more coats of paint and a LOT of sanding after that? please! any suggestion is welcome.

thanks in advance

You would have to remove all the paint for a good finish.

Looks like either a mis-match between paint and primer or some moisture in the paint.

Either way a complete redo is best, IMO...

OK, while I think what to do with the paint, (most likely I'm going to sand all the case and start all over again) I decided to check just the paint without the primer in a mouse so here it is

Image

also change the color of the LED.

next step start to sand the cover of the case and... well sand the case again :|

Thanks Josh, should I sand the fan too? or is there a better way to remove the primer? if there isn't a 240 sand paper can do the job?

well you dont need to completely remove the primer just sand it with the 240 untill it is smooth and then do very light coats, it will look bad to start with because the paint and primer wont cover the object fully but if you do lots of fine coats you will have a much better finish :thumright: Hope that helps

Ok, since last week I haven't the time to do more for my case, but On sunday afternoon I finally could sand and primer... again :? , and yes It was the primer, thanks to Crunch, Josh and Sqeeuky Cheese, for the advice and the nice words.

Then, when I started to paint realize that I didn't have the enough cans for the paint, so... still slow for now.

Here it's the case, sanded and already applied three coats of primer

Image

Image

and a few coats of paint (before realize That It wouldn't be enough paint) .
Image

Image

the fan I have to sand it and the apply more coats of paint don't you think?
Image

hope you don't have the same problems that I have.
more work soon... I hope :|

yeah, you should strip it and sand it down again...

try using clean metal or dupicolor spot filler primer...those always work for me

Other than that I love the case desing and color!!!
