I've been trying to wait until I complete The Green Build before staring on a second worklog but with the low temperatures and high humidity slowing down paint and bondo I needed to get something going on. Since I had several candidates waiting I picked one of the Gateway boxen. Of the cases I've got on hand these have fewer proprietary quirks than the rest.

Exploded view. All the exterior panels except the left side panel are plastic. :(

I've already drilled out the rivets for this piece. I'm going to have to cut it for a standard I/O shield.

Front bezel. At least it releases easily!

Until I get a better tag line, I'm out!

Thanks! I'm looking for a good link to that brand respirator online. It was fairly cheap (about $20 USD) and the replacement filters are too ($13 USD). I'll try to dig something up in the next day or so.

With a blank panel behind it.

On the chassis.

At first I was trying to figure out how to hide the drive cage, PSU, etc. but then I decided to go with it as a feature!

This should show the components nicely!

And just in case you are trying to untangle your dremel cord, go ahead and switch it off.

Bah that sucks....that's why I no longer cut from the front panel, I reverse the design and put it on the back of the panel and cut from there as much as possible. I'd much prefer the extra work setting that up than bondoing those scratches afterwards.

Looking good!

Thanks! It's fun to see what you can do with circles!

Thanks! I'll see how bad it looks after I strip off the masking tape. It shouldn't be too bad and since the whole case will be getting painted I should be able to hide it.

Very nice work on that panel dude! Just stick some body filler on the scratch and sand it down and it will be just fine :)
